Precision Respirable Dust Sampler is designed for the collection of total as well as respirable fraction of the dust present in the outdoor atmosphere. Measurement of total dust content in the ambient air is used of access the air quality as a Criteria Parameter suggested by Central/State Pollution Control Board and International Agencies. Dust contents in the ambient air varies from less than 1.0 micron to coarse sand particles which apparently results in the soiling of surfaces, visibility and other problems. Particles ranging from 0.5 to 10 microns are of great significance as they are inhaled during respiration causing respiratory diseases. Respirable Dust Sampler has provision of on-line separation/ sampling of respirable and total dust and abnoxious gases/vapour such as SO2, NOx, Ozone, H2S, NH3, Chlorine, etc. in the ambient atmosphere. The samplers uses a vacuum cleaner type blower and motor to draw large volumes of air through cyclone collector and filteration assembly where particulates are collected for measurement and analysis. The sampler uses sturdy and reliable wolf make vacuum cleaner type blower to draw large volumes of air through a filter paper on which particulates are collected for measurement and analysis. Volumetric flow of the sampler is set with the help of an electronic regulator and the rate is monitored on a glass tube manometer calibrated to show the flow rate directly in m3air/min. The Gas Sampling Module, attached to the sampler, collects the obnoxious gases simultaneously in the specified absorption reagents. The gas is collected in four sets of glass impingers connected through a manifold and individual flow control valves. The entire sampler module is made of thick gauge aluminum sheet with sturdy aluminum section frame and entire body is powder coated to resist the outdoor atmospheric conditions.
